Vias del Vero Tempranillo Cabernet Sauvignon Rosado

I can't keep up. For three weeks I've had today marked in the Outlook calendar as Tempranillo Day, for some bright spark has designated today as a celebration of this classic Spanish grape. Then I note, over this week, a gamut of tweets marking today as Cabernet Day.

How is one to cope?

Australia appears to have embraced #cabernetday with a vengeance. Tweets I also read came in from Argentina, an obscure village in France and from a wine merchant in England cracking open a few bottles of cabernet for an impromptu, in store, tasting. Not to be out-wined the #tempranillo crowd held a little cork-popping on a bridge in Madrid and various other 'activities'.

Tonight I'm at home with a plate of tuna, tomato and cream pasta. Alone, apart from the new neighbour, Craig, pummelling the intervening walls hanging pictures. Me and a bottle of ros.

Vias del Vero Tempranillo Cabernet Sauvignon Rosado, 2010, Somontano, Spain [Adegga / Snooth] is the bottle shoved between the peas and the block of 'sauce' in the freezer for it requires a chill.

"From the rolling hills of Somontano in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains, this appealing Rosado is bright pink in colour, with aromas of fresh red fruits and wild berries, perfectly integrated over a lightly herbaceous background. Delicious juicy fruit on the palate with well balanced acidity and a crisp finish"

Yeh, what they said...

Vias del Vero Tempranillo Cabernet Sauvignon Rosado, 2010, Somontano is available from Tanner, Noel Young Wines, Iberica and other selected independents for 7.29.
