Lunching @ Max at iHaus, Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur

The chef has left a building.

For those who do not know already, Max Chin, a male helming a kitchen during iHaus will be vacating iHaus to open his own restaurant.

Following his departure, iHaus will go upon to offer food as usual, however there will be a slight revamp upon their menu. As you have enjoyed most great dishes during iHaus, you would give it a try next month as well as see how a food fares but Max in a kitchen.

Just prior to my confinement, you managed to hide a single final meal during Max (barely!) as well as you was blissful you did.

Freshly oven oven baked bread

Ice lemon tea included with a set lunch

For starters, choose in between a soup or salad. The salad upon which day was Balsamic glaze baby octopus upon uninformed mesclun greens with olives as well as fig vinaigrette, somewhat opposite from a common salads they offer here. The Unc as well as you both had this. The baby octopus were flavoursome with a great texture.

Mum had a Asparagus Cream Soup garnished with chicken ham as well as sauteed leeks. It was rich, tawny as well as delicious!

Yum in a bowl

Since there were 3 of us, you each tried a opposite categorical course. Mum had a Pan Fried Dory Fish Fillet with pesto chopped tomatoes coulis upon a bed of sauteed potatoes. She was most tender with her mains; a fish was uninformed as well as flaky, accompanied with a tangy, appetizing chopped tomatoes coulis. She couldn't believe which such great worth for income lunch (plus tasty food!) still exists in a city.

The two remaining categorical courses were steep as well as chicken. you let The Unc take his collect initial as well as he went for a Oven oven oven baked steep breast fillet with Chardonnay as well as mushroom muddle upon mixed greens as well as sauteed potatoes. you remember carrying this a final time you had lunch here as well as it was unequivocally good. The Unc also enjoyed it really much, as a steep as well as mushrooms were full of flavour.

Come to consider of it, I've never had pasta during Max before. The pan seared smoked chicken fillet with spaghetti pasta in carbonara sauce surprised me. The spaghetti cooked al dente as well as lonesome with a abounding carbonara sauce was tasty as well as lovely to eat.

Verdict: Definitely a single of a most appropriate worth lunches around. Hopefully they will manage to maintain a great customary even after Max Chin's departure.
