Cilantro Restaurant & Wine Bar @ Micasa All Suite Hotel; a name revered by many food connoisseurs to be a summary of fine dining here in a heart of KL.
Set Lunch during RM150 nett. A weekly rotating menu, only available on Fridays.
No. 8 of The Miele Guide 2010/2011. Yes, even during No.8, Cilantro is a initial Malaysian grill to have it into a Top 10 of a Miele Guide.
Then, because wasnt we tender with my lunch yesterday?
Well, we blame it on a intense reviews which Ive review of Cilantros set lunches during a 1st 2 weeks when they initial proposed their Fri set lunches. As discussed with a associate gourmet diner, a menu this week lacked pizzaz & was simpler. Darn.
The Friday set lunch comes with a nominal glass of Kir Royale. All things considered, RM150 for a 3 march set lunch, with Kir Royale & coffee/tea is still worth for money, deliberation which this is Cilantro after all..
Fresh bread as well as their legendary truffle butter starts off your dishes here during Cilantro, be it lunch or dinner.
All cinema here have been taken with a Sony Nex 3, with 18-55 mm lens. While cinema have been crook generally, we find it tough to focus on an object most of a time. Not sure if Im regulating a wrong lens. For e.g. a pic below.
Cilantro Restaurant was not as big than we expected. Service was unimportant & any march was paced out nicely.
Our appetiser scored high points around a list & we relaxed, permitting myself to solve into a state of relief which a rest of lunch would be only as wonderful.
However, (it could be only me nitpicking); we suspicion which a salmon, although fresh, lacked taste or flavour. The oyster was fine. Same goes for a avruga.
Duck, foie gras, all in a bowl. Definitely one of a reason because we concluded to this weeks menu.
Looks wonderful doesnt it?
Indeed a consomme was. The deceiving delicious seeking pinkish slice of duck wasnt. It was approach too gamey & after nipping on it for 10 mins we passed it to my serviette. Thankfully a foie gras was decaden! t & buttery rich.
It came in a small though extremely plain soup bowl, (almost 3kg by my estimates). Heavy sufficient to hit an assailant senseless. LOL.
Forever on a surveillance for great beef (I cant understand because is it so tough to find a great beef in KL!!!) we had my mind done up for my categorical march right after we review a menu online. The Master Kobe sounds like its a answer to all my beef-y woes. we was sure its starting to be perfect..
But contemptible to say, it wasnt great. No melt in a mouth hardness which we positively adore in my beef. But it was great nonetheless, in a approach most appropriate put as Good for its price, great sufficient to eat.
The alternative choice of categorical was a Seafood with saffron rice. Plump scallops, half a outrageous prawn, a little shellfish & cod. The owners of this categorical was generally gratified with it, alternative than a ubiquitous consensus which there was barely any spirit of a fugitive saffron.
My fav partial of any meal was next. But by right away we wasnt awaiting much
Well, we know what they say about great things happening when we least expect it?
The Feuillantine of Apple with Calvados Ice Cream was a lot better than how we had illusory it to be.
Cooked apple slices laced with strong flavour of apple brandy (the Calvados ) topped with creamy vanilla ice crem.
Well, if Im starting to be a bitch, Im starting to say we had better ice cream, though hey, we think Ill stop whining now. Im sure most people do not have any complains on Cilantro
