Ms. Jazz Explores: Sushi Daiwo, Tsukiji Market Tokyo

If you ever pop by at Tokyo, wanting to have affordable sushi albeit one which is super fresh that make you go OMG while you devour every single bite thinking youll never eat any other sushi in KL again because it will not feel the same ever, well you might want to consider Sushi Daiwo or Sushi Dai (father and son team in two different shop footsteps away from one another) at Tsukiji market.

A full sushi meal of about 8-10 items may seem wrong (and sinful) at 5am in the morning, but it is only that time that you can avoid the queue which was already lengthening by 5.30am. Tsukiji market row of sushi places is a must must MUST go whenever you visit Tokyo. Of course there is plenty of other really good sushi place in town- Take sushiso masa for example, top sushi restaurant in TOKYO which charge you approx RM800-1000 per head- you need to book one or two weeks in advance by the way because they only have 7 seats in there, or you may opt for something that will still make you go gaga and wont empty out your wallet too fast, a full meal in sushi daiwo would only cost a nip in your wallet by RM100-RM150

The good thing about Sushi DaiWo is, you dont really have to say anything. Given the lack of ability to converse in each other languages anyhow, we ordered omakase set and let the chef serve us whatever that was fresh from the market. Throughout the whole dining experience (mind you it wasnt very long, half an hour tops in there due to being serve faster than a fast food restaurant) we politely and repeatingly saying words like HAI (yes yes), Oiishi (delicious), Si mi masen (Excuse me), Biru Ichi(One Beer)- yep we had beer at 5am in the morning, theres no rule saying otherwise right? Just for your info, it tasted awesome with the sushis.

Here are the pictures, Ill spare you the details but I wish you can just see my expression when I put it in my mouth. Its priceless as I was almost speechless! The sashimis were melt ! in your mouth wonders. The Chef has advised us not to dip into soya sauce and should eat it on its own. Most pieces of sushi already have wasabi in them. I normally would not touch wasabi, but there were no complains with this as it was filled with just the right amount and fully complements the freshness of the seafood. Im in love!

5am in the morning already bustling with life
