Din Tai Fung, this name is no stranger to the Xiu Long Bao lovers out there in KL.
Its all started by having their first outlet at The Gardens Midvalley Megamall and since then growing rapidly over the years. New outlets opened up at Pavilion, Subang Empire and the latest one at eCurve Mutiara Damansara.Din Tai Fung has been voted Top 10 Restaurants in theWorld by The New York Times and has garnered 1 Michelin Star. Michelin Star standards require all the restaurant outlets to have a consistent quality and from time to time stringent spot checks were done to maintain the standard.
They are located right at the entrance from Royal Bintang towards eCurve. You wont miss it when you walk in from the main entrance of eCurve. Their big brightly lighted signboard will grab your attention.
On the right side of this photo is the Royal Bintang Entrance where it is just convenient for hotel guest who wants a great food towards their stay. This is definitely better than fast foods!
This outlet also features the signature open kitchen concept.
You still can see how your xiu long bao made f! rom fres h featuring the 18 folds sealing and translucent thin skins storing the soups within.
The kitchen is always compact with a limited working space featuring high tech cooking appliances.
The new restaurant were huge and has a massive sitting place.
Decorations wise, theyare still using the same wallpaper that showcase the DING which is an emperors cup back in China olden days.
Spacious and cozy setup
We were invited for the restaurants soft launch to make sure everything is fine in order before open up for public. Normally when a new restaurant opened up, the menu items sometime not available to order. At Din Tai Fung is a whole different story where we actually order 90% of the menu items. At any other restaurants, the order tends to get missed items or screw up some place. The staff are well trained until he know how to plan and serve our dishes. He put the right timing interval between each dishes so that we can eat and clear the tables. If he didnt do the planning properly for us, I can tell you the plates will be over flow. Thumbs up for the training on all the staffs here!
