Pangkor Laut Resort, Perak My review of the Residents Package Value for money!

My apologies for the abrupt ending to my previous post. The last week has been hell but thank god I scrapped through. :)

Im now in Taiwan for a trip that I nearly cancelled. Things worked out better on the very morning of the flight, so 3 hours before the flight, I decided that situation is stable enough for me to leave.

So without further ado, heres the continuation from where I left off; right at that moment where we were having lunch at Chapmans Bar on Day 2.

Chapmans Bar sits on the beach Emerald Bay and serves a variety of cuisine. The setting here is casual and the whole dining experience was more about enjoying the sea breeze with your toes in the sand than the actual food.

I went for their signatures; namely the Chicken Chop and the Braised Duck Noodles. Heres the deal under the Resident Package each diner gets to order 1 of each main, appetiser and dessert; basically a complete 3 course meal. The same T & C applies for every mean here; any additional drinks other than water is subject t! o charge s.

For the 2 of us, we shared 2 appetisers and 2 mains.
Gado-gado.RM35.
- an Indonesian salad served with peanut sauce, accompanied by deep fried spring rolls.

Options of desserts were Sago Gula Melaka RM35,Bubur Kacang Hijau RM25 and daily selection of ice -cream at 2 scoops for RM25.

Taking into consideration of the cost of the meal, we were really glad that the Resident Package offers complimentary meals throughout the trip!

Since we were already at Emerald Bay, I took the opportunit! y to go for a swim. :d

The waves were really strong and the changing tide was swift! One moment the sea were pretty far out and shortly after the waves crashed right to where Chapmans Bar and the reclining lounge chairs were!

The sea was a lovely emerald green; as befitting of the name of the beach.

After much beach play time, we headed for dinner.

Dinner was at Feast Village, the same restaurant for breakfast. The special dinner menu for those under the Resident Package is whimsical and Malay traditional set, served in a platter, with individual portions of the dishes to be eaten with rice.

Below: Nasi Hidang Dua Daging Kurma, Kacang Panjang, Udang Masak Merah, Ikan Goreng Kunyit and Kambing Masala.

I loved the presentation!
Putting myself in the shoes of a foreigner, I realized how thoughtful ! such set s are to inculcate the flavours and knowledge of local Malay cuisine to them. Each sets covers rice, a few different type of meat, fish, seafood and vegetables. Portions are generous and the food tasted as good as as the presentation.
For RM85++ per set/pax, this was again complimentary under the Resident Package. Wrapping up the beautiful dinner was a selection of desserts from the counter where each diner gets to select ONE dessert, including the ice-cream. Apologies but the pictures of desserts didnt quite turn out well so I omitted them from this post.

With a rounded belly, I waddled back to my comfy King-sized bed. :dd

The next day, I tried to assuage my guilt with a complimentary yoga session. Executing a sun salutation pose on a pavilion over the gentle lapping waves and crisp breeze of the sea totally beats the air conditioned gym studio anytime!

Check out time was 12pm. A quick breakfast later, I had packed and ready to leave. The speedboat ferried all of us to Marina Bay Jetty, where the car was parked safely the last few days.

Oh Pangkor Laut Resort, what a lovely time it has been! Thank you and please remain as beautiful as youre now for many years to come! :)
