We recently visited Cafe New Paris for dinner and was pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant was not very full. Remembering my previous visit a year and a half ago the place was rammed with diners despite it being a weekday.
Claypot Braised Seafood
Their Seafood Pot was very bland. The gravy tasted like plain Oyster Sauce and we could not taste the flavors of the seafood ingredients impart on to the gravy.
Cheong Cheng Fish
A popular method of steaming fish in New Paris. Their Cheong Cheng Sauce had the right amount of sweetness and sourness and contained Pork Lard which I loved.
Water Melon Chicken
This is a signature dish of New Paris. The Chicken was crispy and moist. It was tossed in a sauce that tasted a little like BBQ Sauce. I loved the chicken but don't know how it is suppose to be paired with watermelon.
Stir-Fried Kai Lan
The Kai Lan was quite good although it wasn't as crispy as I'd like. The Pork and Garlic gav! e it an added flavor.
The food at Cafe New Paris wasn't as good as it used to be. Maybe that explains the lack of diners on the day we went.
