I have to applaud AFCs continuous and consistent airing of really good cooking programs. There was a point of my life where I had the privilege to watch AFC every weekend, since the ex-BF has Astro.
Needless to say, when he became the ex, my AFC sessions went kaput as well. LOL!
But as consolation I have had many opportunities to meet these AFC chefs in person, with much gratitude of course to AFC who has consistently flown in their chefs to our Malaysian shores. These meet and greets were awesome experiences, and I cant thank AFC enough each time.
From Martin Yan, Bruce Limto Anna Olson, it was always thrilling to see these amazing chefs at work right in front of you.
And my latest AFC Chef encounter was the superbly charming and engaging Chef Adrian Richardson.
Chef Adrian Richardson is in Malaysia as part of hisThe Perfect Cut with Adrian Richardsontour and will treat food enthusiasts to a myriad of culinary experiences including intimate dinners, cooking demonstrations, and other exclusive dining-related experiences.
My exciting gastronomic experience few days back started with Chef Adrian pulling out a mock sausage and showing his audience the proper way to make sausages.
And he got a grown man on all fours to help him illustrate the parts of the cow. Here, he said, is the.. ermm.. actually I dont know. I was too busy tucking into the food served!
Chef Adrian is BIG on meat. In addition to two cookbooks under his publishing belt, Meat and The Good Life, and his recent AFC hit television programmeSecret Meat Businessaired between April to July 2011,Chef Adrian Richardson is the owner and head chef of the successfulLa Luna,one of Melbournes best Mediterranean bistros.
His love for meat and his country Australia is evident. For his trip here, Chef Adrian actually air-flown Australian meat for his demos. No compromising on his meat, he said.
Out of all the AFC chefs cooking demos that I have attended, I would vote Chef Adrians session to be the most engaging and educational one so far.

As he demos each recipe, we were treated to a sampling portion of each dish.
DISH 1- Sauted Calamari, Chilli, Garlic & Spinach.
DISH 2- Lamb Pie, Middle Eastern Spices, Parsley, Labne > THIS WAS SUPERB! Seriously, I couldnt have enough of this.
DISH 3 Merguez Sausages. Meaty and satisfying.
DISH 4- How to cook The Perfect Steak. I love how pink he prepares his meat. Thats the way to cook & enjoy beef, he said. Oh yea, I totally concur!
DISH 5- Vanilla Bean Crme Brule. This was way too sweet. Perhaps Chef Adrian is not much of a dessert chef.
A regular face on television, Chef Richardson has appeared alongside Tobie Puttock and Jamie Oliver in Jamies Kitchen Australia. He is also one of the team of regular chefs on Ready Steady Cook, Fresh, Switching Lives and Good Morning Australia.
In November, AFC will also air his latest show, Good Chef Bad Chef, which sees him playing the devil next to co-host Janella Purcell, a nutritionist.
