After having a really expensive but mediocre meal at G Buzzano, Bali and I decided to try out simpler foods during our next two days in Frankfurt having Vietnamese to Flammkuchen!
Pho @ Pho 79
The Pho here may not have all the usual ingredients of a typical but it was decent. The Bean Sprouts were a little stale and the use of Basil and Lime was substituted with Parsley and Lemon
Spiesbraten @ IAA
Three years in a row I ate at this stall for their Spiesbraten at Messe Frankfurt and it is still good! This is to me is lunch for Champions. Flavorful Pork Shoulder braised with Onions and served with two slices of German Rolls.
Macarons @ Imori Patisserie
We stumbled upon this little Pastry Shop while walking around Romer Platz. The Macarons had a nice flavor but the texture was a little bit too chewy for my liking.
Grilled Sausages and Flammkuchen @ Street Food Stalls along The Zeil
There were a ton of Food Stalls celebrating Oktoberfest along the Zeil. The Sausage was really good but the Flammkuchen was only so-so.
Hotpot Buffet @ Yan Jing
The only Hotpot I've ever had in Germany. The Lamb meat was exceptionally good but the beef and other meats and seafood were not very fresh. Overall good value since it was all you can eat for 20 Euros.
