The Malaysia International Gourmet Festival (MIGF) will be held over 31 days from 1st 31st October 2011 with 28 of the countrys very best restaurants taking part. The gala launch were held at Sunway Resorts & Spas Grand Ball room. The whole ball room were decorated with lots of electric candle lights.

The chefs picture also were hang on the roof to illustrate raining chefs which I find pretty creative. It was as if the chef were floating around.

Into its 11th consecutive year, MIGF is a month-long fine dining festival that draws visitors from all over the globe to taste and apprec! iate the international standard of cuisines available in Malaysia and the expertise of the countrys top resident chefs.

Its Raining Chefs! is the theme for this years Festival a deliberately lighthearted tagline aimed at giving the Festival universal appeal. Malaysia is a relaxed and friendly food destination, says Dato Steve Day, the Festivals Organising Chairman. Fine dining here is not only about serving the best cuisines and having top-notch service standards its about having fun too!

MIGF is an integral part of Tourism Malaysias Fabulous Food 1Malaysia initiative a strategy aimed at promoting the countrys unique food capabilities to the world.

If you love fine dining, Malaysia is the place to be this October. Throughout the month, the countrys leading restaurants will serve up their own individually created special Festival Menus. All come at special prices to encourage diners to taste as many of these fantastic foods as they can.

Guest were greeted with free flow Kronenbourg French Beers before entering the Grand Ballroom.

Foodies everywhere can make a date with Festival restaurants to enjoy these once-in-a-year signature menus which are served with or without specially-paired wines.

A host of top-class restaurants and hotels are involved, with their Master Chefs all trying to outdo each other in creating their own special menus for the occasion. Alongside the Fest! ival Men us, each restaurant and hotel boasts deals on everything from cigars and wines to accommodation and breakfast packages, with most offering a special gift on arrival and even a birthday cake if you celebrate your special day during the Festival!

Year after year, regular festival goers wait in anticipation to see what each Festival Master Chef will create in terms of exciting new signature dishes and masterpieces a process that has seen the variety of cuisines and culinary creativity exceed all expectations since the Festival began in 2001. In the time since then, Malaysias fine dining industry has grown from a virtually zero base to the vibrant fine dining scene we see today.

Overseas visitors can also enjoy special MIGF Gourmet Tours accommodation and dining packages which are fully supported by the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia. The tour packages offer good-value accommodation and dining with extended stay options, which will take participants to select locations outside of Kuala Lumpur. The Gourmet Tours Malaysia package offers will be available not just during the Festival month but all year round too. Many of the special Festival offers will still apply beyond the Festival period too, and value-added options such as health screenings, cooking classes, spa and wellness, and golf are among the extras available in these appealing and attractively priced Gourmet Tours.

A total of 28 top restaurants are in the festival line-up for MIGF 2011. These include the following

Hotel restaurants:
