Classy Champagne Sundays at Shook! Starhill Gallery, Bukit Bintang

Weekend brunches have been a luxury to most of us. What some-more if it is a champagne brunch! Myself havent been to many, as well as was most advantageous to be upon a invite list for a launch of a newest champagne brunch upon a block just last Sunday.

Sundays in Shook! during Starhill Gallery, Bukit Bintang have been right away sparkled up with a hold of sophistication. The champagne of choice here is a glorious Piper Heidsieck, which was awarded 91 points by Wine Spectator. For booze lovers, Cloudy Bay; a single of a most appropriate well known new world wines will be served.

Though Im not most of a drinker, you insistedly took a sip of a Piper Heidsieck & was rewarded with a glorious ambience of smooth luxury in my mouth. Hhmm..

A charming barkeeper goes around with her little transport of sins, jolt up a little hardcore cocktails as she merrily went turn a dining tables.

And she shook up utterly a mean Dry Martini, as attested by UnkaLeong.

Fresh oysters from a Pacifc Ocean have been creatively shucked upon a spot upon sequence & sent to a table. Yes, a smorgasboard here is a tad different. Food is paid for to your table, ensuring a hold of personalised use & absolutely prohibited piping food.

The smorgasboard spread showcased a great preference of desserts, appetisers, salads, soups & country bread. Fresh grassed area leaves, with a medley of uninformed ! dressing s, mediterranean inspired appetisers, a poetic cream of broccoli soup & a platter of epicurean cheese had most guests returning for several rounds.

Shook!

MYself? you had to refrain from chowing down loaves of bread & spoiling my appetite for a mains ..LOL.

shook! Starhill (5)

A must stop over during a smorgasboard list is a sacred King of Cheeses a important Brie de Meaux. A French Brie cheese, Brie de Meaux has a thin, feathery as well as white crust which reveals a straw yellow heart which is deliciously soothing as well as tawny with a nutty essence as well as a slight aroma of fermentation. At once clever yet refined, Brie de Meaux can be savoured as well as appreciated with most wines. Not startling since a mythological interest dates behind to a 8th Century when French Emperor Chalemagne loved it when he initial tasted it during a nunnery in Reuil-en-Brie.

Chef Wai, whom you met during a Midsummer Nights Festival dinner , is right away a Head Chef for Shook! as well as a Feast Village outlets.

He tipped me about an glorious foie gras & truffle & beef image accessible as part of a champagne brunch, which it turned out to be a Medallion Tournedos Rossinion in the limited preference menu.

shook! Starhill (22)

Well, both of us done glorious choices which day, with me happily tucking in upon my flaky uninformed honeyed Cod (delicious!) as well as UnkaLeong coincidental ordering a Medallion Tournedos Rossinion. A beef lover, he couldnt be happier lapping up a fluffy foie gras & a ideally middle tenderloin.

My Honey Glazed Cod:

shook! Starhill (16)

From a unlimited preference menu, he systematic a Papardelle Pasta With Creamy Danish Blue Cheese Sauce & Filet Mignon & you shuddered from a suspicion of a image of tangled heap of thick pasta fetid of pungent cheese.

shook! Starhill (32)

Fortunately for us, a cook churned out a image of poetic papardelle with a right change of astringency from a cheese. The genius was a filet mignon, again, ideal for a beef lover. A tip here, eat this when it is HOT.

shook! Starhill (33)

I had to be refrained from ordering my favourite food, the burger countless times which afternoon. And here they used Wagyu! How could you resist! Anyhow, you were flattering pressed with a dim sum, chicken skewers, tender slivers of fish & tempura which constantly done their rounds in a sharp-witted dining area of Shook! so you didnt sequence it in a end.

A journalist during a next list systematic it, as well as you unshamelessly queried if he favourite it. Sadly, he finds it a bit dry for Wagyu. But tatter not, he had since his feedback to a kitchen & a image would most likely be improved.

shook! Starhill (3)

Another friend systematic the Seafood Platter (Limited Menu) as well as he pronounced a crustaceans havent died in vain. ;-)

WASABI ice cream! Naturally, it was my 1st choice a impulse you spied it upon a menu. But a snow white stain was deceiving. Looking during it, you had suspicion it would be honeyed & mild but it was same to eating frozen wasabi. Yes, it was which strong. you left it untouched after a couple of spoonfuls. Heheh.. you similar to my desserts to ambience similar to desserts ;-) .

shook! Starhill (37)

I then consoled myself with a Green Tea ice-cream, which was splendidly well-balanced in flavour, plus a Cocoyam Yam Ice Cream as well as Coconut Cream which was smooth & creamy. Both desserts were not too sweet. *happy*
