Itching for Japanese. Edo Ichi, Solaris Dutamas, KL.

(no pork served)

Interior of Edo Ichi

I appear to have zilch luck when it comes to dining Japanese in KL. we do not know what it takes to find the humid as well as small joint, propitious with cedar wood, inhaling as well as exhaling of seared cigarettes as well as an indescribable unlikely yet intoxicating smell. Greeted with the comfortable towel as well as creatively grated wasabi. Hmmmm... So far, the trips to the little Japanese joints had been the traumatic experience. we witnessed the senseless massacre of budding beef as well as fish in the name of the little botched up idea of gastronomy. It has done me the bit wavering in trying our Japanese joints in KL.

Edo-Ichi was endorsed to me by the little friends, as well as of course, after celebration of the mass Boo's blog, we had to give it the go. The photos have the bluish tint since there was the huge aquarium during the behind of me. we did not glow my flash since we was sitting during the sushi bar. we could incidentally blind the cook during the moment as well as served the little sashimied finger.

Dobin Mushi

A singular square of prawn was condemned to capture in the the Dobin Mushi pot with the little fish fillets as fool around mates. we could feel that it was sulking since it would have desired to fool around with the little Matsusake Mushrooms too. The soup was not smokey enough, though the greatest fault was portion the soup with Calamansi instead of the peel of Lime that would have extended the flavours of the soup with it's tartness.

Bearing in mind that the revisit was over the long Hari Raya weekend, the grill must have had the little problems in sourcing the ingredients.

Tako Sunomono

The Tako Sunomono however, was perfectly vinegary, drizzled with lemon as well as served with wakame as well as kyuri as well as lightly sprinkled with Sesame. It was the undiluted appetizer.

Tsubagai sauteed with Okra as well as Kimchi

The Okra with Tsubugai with Kimchi Sauce was perfectly sauteed with the Okra not overdone. The dish just screamed out for rice similar to the wailing banshee. The flavours were interesting, though not captivating.

Salmon Belly Sushi

Being the Raya weekend, they have run out of Toro as well as Uni, as well as we had to solve for the more walking Salmon Belly as well as Hamachi Belly Sushi. Both were regular executed with no frills as well as both were acceptably good. The cuts were uninformed as well as unctuous.

Butter Sauteed Mushrooms

The mushroom (enoki) sauteed with butter as well as garlic was slightly heavy. The butter, garlic as well as salt overwhelmed the natural flavours of the mushroom. The Beef wrapped Enoki suffered the same fate.

Hamachi Belly

I am not sure if we am as well much of the purist, though we found the many traditional meals as well as the simplest meals to be the best. Bad timing upon my part to arrange for the revisit during an extended weekend, we know. we would be behind to sample more of the meals again.

Yuzu Sherbet

If there is the reason to go to Edo Ichi, it would be the pleasing Yuzu Sherbet. Cold, crisp, sour as well as light. we could have bowls of this but removing bored. The Frigid Ice Queen stole the show. Quaint.

There we are, the new Japanese corner as well as usually dual massacred meals that is the most appropriate record for the Japanese Restaurant in KL for me so far. Just stick to the basics, as well as we won't go distant wrong during Edo-Ichi.

Price were about RM190 for the upon top of meals as well as an Asahi. Be prepared to spend about RM250 per chairman if we plan to get the little really great cuts.

Service was great as well as efficient, notwithstanding the grill being quite full.

Edo Ichi satisfied my itch temporarily, though not completely. Next dual upon my list would be Ozeki as well as Kapoh. Typing is such the chore upon my diminutive netbook, we guys will have to humour the little bad typos for the while compartment we get back. we should have brought my notebook.
