Taos Restaurant is important for the Set Menu concept of One price, One Menu, Many Selections. Their creative complicated European as good as oriental cuisines have been all presented with the touch of Zen in Tao-Ci pottery plates (thus the name Taos).
Tao Tzu plates in itself is the excellent art, as good as most importantly, "Tao Tzu" has the tall feverishness withstanding level which will help to safety the heat of the food in the very natural way. It integrates art in to food, as good as food in to art. An unique dinning concept which should not be missed.
The Tao's in Melbourne is desirous by the simplicity, sophistication, as good as magnificence of Japanese cuisine. Taos 7 courses menu features the most appropriate of Japanese as good as French cuisine with an emphasize upon how any dish is presented. In some-more aged to the conventional degustation where the courses have been already set, Taos presents customers with the preference of dishes for any course. AND the most appropriate partial of all, it's usually the whopping 58aud!! Yes, u listened me!! 58 aud for the 7 march set dinner!! What the catch right??
Chef's Seasonal Selection platter
Seasonal Sashimi Platter
The sashimi's were uninformed as good as chilled. you can never accept frozen + thawed or warm sashimis.. It usually spells W-R-O-N-G!!
My preference of entree:Tempura Soft-Shell Crab in Japan StyleThe soft-shell crab is low boiled to the crisp, tasted even improved if dipped with sauce. It was the pretty typical tempura soft-shell crab.. It's tough to go wrong with it..
Tao's Special Chawan-mushi..Is not THAT special after all.. On the brighter note, it was surfaced withgenerous apportionment of fish roe which i LOVE!!! you could snack upon usually fish roe usually i swear!! hehe as good as the steamed egg was cooked to the perfection, not too runny or too hardened.
Our prime soup in the world: Teapot style Bonitto
With usually the little cut of lemon forsaken in to the pot, it creates an present boost to the ambience of an almost typical pot of soup. It's lovely as good as soothing!! How you wished which the teapot was bottomless..
I'm currentlyin the routine of trying to have this at home!! Probably might need to improvise the bit as good as make use of chinese teapot instead.. =PAnyone has great arguable recipe for Bonitto soup, caring to share??
In the surrounded by of the 7 march meal, you were served the shot of green plum (??) juice toenhance the appetite before the mains.
Admittedly, my preference of categorical march was the bad one. The rocklin sugita-yaki with miso thickk cream was not up to my expectations. With 5 prior decent march formerly served, i would have approaching some-! more fro m their main. There's usually something uncanny about this dish which i can't explain. Perhaps it's the creaminess or lack of distinctive taste. Too most of the creaminess made me feel sick.. you found myselfforcing the dish down my throat. It was THAT bad. =(His Confit Duck leg with white booze salsa was the most improved choice. The steep meat was proposal as good as mix good with the white booze sauce. Extra points given for the innovative approach of serving!!
Rice of the day: Enoki boiled rice
Creme Brulee for dessert
Caramel top bake to the perfect crisp. Do u know how tough issit to master the blow-torching act??Just enough sweetness, creamy- usually the approach i love it!!Hazardous to waistline but all worth it!
