Today is the 2nd day of the Malaysia Tourism Hunt 2012 and as I sit here uploading pictures and writing in my barely conscious state, I realized how fulfilling the previous 2 days has been. The Malaysia Tourism Hunt is organized for the 1st time ever and tomorrow is the official flag-off day.
Almost 200 participants from the local and international media has congregated in Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside Hotel in the last 48 hours and we are all thrilled for the break of dawn tomorrow when the ala amazing race/fear factor/treasure hunt event officially kicks -off.

We have certainly enjoyed the networking opportunity the last 2 days (I have made many new friends! )and our comfortable stay inPullman PutrajayaLakeside, all thanks to Malaysia Tourism Board.
Yesterday we were taken for a crui! se on Pu trajaya man-made lake where wemarveled at the splendour of the majestic buildings and architecture of the buildings within Putrajaya. The tour also served to give all the media involved a crash course about Malaysias model city Putrajaya.
There were a total of 8 bridges, 8 parks, 8 governments buildings here and each boasts stunning and intricate designs that beckons photo-taking frenzy.
I for one, hoped that all the lights are from solar energy. It would
Today we were split into teams of 4 and were given a quick brief about our itinerary for the next 5 days. Our kind sponsors provided Touch & Go smart tags, Petronas petrol refuel cards and Garmin navigational devices. Meanwhile, our comfy rides are taken care of by Proton.

The international media were given a tour of Sepang InternationalCircuitand many came away impressed. Surprisingly it turned out to be a first for some of our local media (Brunei, Perlis, Pahang, etc) too!

We did a quick test drive of our Proton cars on the Sepang circuit itself and I was thrilled to actually be driving on the very tracks that famous F1 drivers had pitted among themselves on and won championships!

A quick introduction to SIC session followed which was rather interesting as it revealed some interesting insights. For instance, do you know that the Sepang International Circuit is fully booked everyday of the year?Surprised? Same here! I thought it was only in use during F1 season!
Apparently the tracks are popular for events, races , practice sessions and shows.
After the familiarisation session with our Proton cars, we drove back to the hotel and immediately proceeded for a 5km cycling route around Putrajaya. Yes it was a hectic day! And the hunt has not even begun!
Those who didnt cycle went brid watching instead. The Putrajaya Lake and Wetlands are home to almost 300 species of migratory birds. A few ! lucky me dia even spotted some otters.
With barely 45 mins left, we rushed back to the hotel to freshen up before our dinner on thepresenceof the President of Perbadanan Putrajaya.
And thus ends our day 2! Tomorrow is Day 1 -Malaysian Tourism Hunt 2012!
There are many exciting activities lined up to challenge the participants knowledge about the locations of the hunt; which begins at Putrajaya, then to Frasers Hill, Water Theme Park Bukit Gambang Resort City, Raub Pahang, National Elephant Conservation Centre Kuala Gandah, Kuala Terengganu and Redang Island!
