Bukit Unggul Golf & Country Club It Been a Long Time

Yes it has been a long time since I last played at Bukit Unggul Golf & Country Club maybe it has been 5 years. The golf course is found to be in a better condition compared to the last visit especially the green though not fast.
The friends at Bukit Unggul for a reason and for a wage for a good dinner. Mode of play was based on partnership and match play.

Unggul is scenic and filled with beautiful flora & fauna at every corner of the golf course.

The fight was closely battled from Hole no.1, it was all square after first nine and the status after Hole no. 16 was only one up in favour of Team KK&TL, then came the moment of truth KK chipped in for a wonderful birdie which sealed off the match play. Meaning a dinner was won and Team BW&DC has to pay for the dinner.

Coco.Tei

Coco Tei: Round Three. Earlier entries: May 9 & May 12.

Can't go wrong with the sashimi platter here. Sit at the counter and watch the chefs slice up the raw fish and spread everything in a flawless presentation, remaining poised and cool-headed despite the clamor of customers placing ceaseless orders.

Two types of eel sushi: in front, anago (saltwater eel) & in the background, unagi (freshwater). We're increasingly favoring anago, which swaps the oily sweetness of unagi for a fleshier texture and less one-dimensional taste.

Smoked tuna topped with foie gras. Had a shot at greatness, but fell short; the fish could have been more succulent, while the bits of liver were a little too meager.

Wagyu beef & leek soup. A rich, belly-warming broth, brimming with flavor, though the Wagyu could probably have been substituted with Angus with no discernible difference.

Foie gras with Coco Tei "special sauce." An intriguing recipe, with hints of sesame in the sauce that nicely complemented the liver's fatty flavor.

Wasabi & sesame ice cream. Tasty but pricey, at RM10 and RM12 respectively.

Umeshu plum liquor jelly. Superbly smooth, with a slight, surprising bitterness that made it a nice enough change from the typically sugary jellies.

Shochikubai Sake-Kyoto Fushimizu Jitate. What a tongue-twister of a name.

Suishen Junmaishu sake (15 percent alkie).

Ham and Vegetable Soup

Soup Name: Ham and Vegetable Soup

Traditional Chinese Name: (hutu ci tng)

Introduction:

An Asian take on a Western soup, this is one of those perfect soups that naturally flow from a Christmas or Easter party (using the left-over turkey or ham bones). In this case, we had the ham bone (and extra bonus ham meat on the bone) and everything went into the soup and we boiled it up Chinese style. The soup was naturally salty and sweet from the ham and required very little to flavor it. We added carrots and onions to round it out and up the flavor and nutrition and it was good to go as a meal with a side bowl of rice. Easy peasy and delicious! If you are lucky, your ham bone may still contain some marrow which can add additional flavor and nutrition to your soup. Also great for kids; my 4 year-old loves this soup.

What ingredients are required?

1 ham bone
3 large fresh carrots
1 whole onion
2-3 L of water

How do I prepare it?

  • Boil your soup water
  • Wash, peel and chop carrots and onions into slightly-larger-than bite-sized pieces
  • When soup water boils, add the ham bone, carrots and onions.
  • Boil on high for 10 minutes and reduce to low heat and simmer for another 1 hour.
  • Serve and enjoy!
  • Any benefits?

    • High fiber and beta carotene from the carrots and vitamin C from the onions
    • Child-friendly soup
    • Great use of left-overs
