French Toast

French Toast

Yesterday night, while preparing to sleep,
my dear husband told me that he wanted me to
make him breakfast before flying off to Sarawak
for one day trip because he does not want to rush
himself looking for breakfast outside.
Since he requested for it, I cannot say "NO".....so,
my brain starts to process what to cook for him and
since I have all these ingredients inside my fridge,
why not make for him French Toast With Pan Fried Bacon.
This is our breakfast for today.

6 slices of White Bread.
1 tablespoon of Brown Sugar (I am short of Caster Sugar).
2 tablespoons of Milk.
3 Eggs.

Happy Notes from me :) :) :).....(Did you see the Bright Red Colour Tongs?
I bought it from Pantry Magic which was introduced by
Thanks to both of them, I FINALLY found the Tongs that I have
been looking for since last year.....I am very fussy with kitchen utensils,
too cheap - won't last long, too expensive - burn my pocket.
Aiyah! What a fussy person I am.......this! one is perfect!!!
Beside the Tongs, I bought a few items.
My husband saw me using the new Tongs to cook breakfast for him
and commented, open ceremony? I happily said "YES! DEAR")

With a wide bowl, pour in the brown sugar, milk and eggs.

Whisk all until well combined with bubbles on top
of the batter.

Heat up the non-stick pan with 2 tablespoons of
vegetable oil or butter.

Soak the bread both side into the batter.
DON'T soak too long, if not, your bread will become soggy.

Place the bread into the non-stick pan and
fried until brown.

And turn to the other side to pan fried further.
Once done, place it in the serving plate.

French Toast With Pan Fried Bacon
I serve it with cut fruit for my dear husband.
While eating, he told me not to forget to make for
our children (my son and daughter are no longer
called children or kids but young adults......
but as parents, we still treat them as children or kids)
I said no problem because I have cooked plenty.
Happy Cooking and Eating.

Tawau Golf Club Hot Spring

A simple plain soup with slices of fresh fish and fish maw together with a dry "Kon Loh" koay Teow noodle for breakfast before we enter the battle field again.

And a black coffee to help jump start the day.One for the album at one of the Tee boxes of Hot Spring Tawau Golf Club.
The golf course is well maintained with lots of colouful plants and shrubs tucked at pertinent corners of the golf course.

The jungle feeling was awesome with gigantic trees everywhere and you get to know the names of these trees as name tags are tagged on them. Swing as you learn more of these timber species or trees of the thick jungle of Borneo.

Danny chipping into the green and hoping to be as close as possible to the hole. Mini gliding seed seen on the fairway.

The "sop tulang" was marvelous though it's plain but very tasty.

Just like an engine block from this "tulang" after drying up the soup.
We will come back to Tawau Golf Club and as a member of Kelab Rahman Putra Malaysia we get to play free of charge as far as the green fee is concerned.

Sigalong Golf & Country Club @ Semporna, Sabah

I like this remote golf course away from the city madness & pollution. This is one golf course not so popularly known to golfers specially those from Peninsula Malaysia. This is seen from the main road from Tawau to Semporna and required another 5km to reach our destination. It was about an hour drive from Tawau to this oil palm plantation in Semporna. The design of this club house is simple & practical. We were fresh in the morning and looking forward walking the 18 holes for a verdict. The affiliation with other golf clubs outside this oil palm plantation. The underneath of the roof covering made of timber called Berlian. The score card.Just in case you want to be a member of this golf club, here is the information that might interest you.The walk path leading to the main entrance of the club house which is made of solid timber. Before we start the battle, a photo session for the record before any injury & good luck. Here we go ready to roll and everyone was in high spirit including our caddies.Chiam sorting out with the caddy and ready to tee off.See what I mean, we are in the middle of nowhere in a plantation in Borneo. And the fight was intense....The search for stray ball does happen once a while.
At middle way we see other golfers at play & a sign board at the entrance of Sigalong.

This was a tricky hole with a huge pond before the green.Resting and waiting for the shower to stop at the last hole.Off we go & back to Tawau for food.

The Origin @ Ampang

Ampang has become a hub for healthy eating, with organic outlets like Earth Food & Haven cropping up this year. The Origin, a modest but admirable cafe, sets itself apart by serving purely vegetarian, mainly Chinese recipes.

Origin's offerings taste surprisingly fantastic for meat-free, guilt-free fare. Intriguing options include a lightly fried, lovably fluffy roll stuffed with yam, turnip & nuts.

Pumpkin-laced tofu with passion fruit sauce. We'd happily munch on these soft, subtly sweet morsels on their own; no need for the spicy-tangy gravy.

More pumpkin, this time coated with oats & curry leaves. Three hearty plates of food were sufficient for a simple lunch for two, but there's still much more on the menu _ everything from seaweed soup to stir-fried spinach.

Vinegar juice & lemon longan honey juice.
