Peppermint Chocolate Thumbprints

Horrible Holiday #3:
If you want to get back together with someone, interrupting them Christmas morning while they are opening gifts just comes off as desperate. I would have rather received a gift than a dramatic phone call.

Peppermint Chocolate Thumbprints

What you need:
1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons butter, melted
2 eggs, lightly beaten
mini candies, peppermint bark or white chocolate for the filling

What you do:
Whisk the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt together in a bowl. Stir in the melted butter and then the eggs. Chill the dough for 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 325 F. On parchment lined cookies sheets, pinch out a tablespoon of dough and roll them into a ball, placing them 1 inch apart from each other. Wet your hands, flatten the dough and put an indent in the center with your thumb. Place the filling you are using inside and bake for 10 minutes.
