Pan Mee @ Restoran Madam Chiam Curry Noodle House, Taman Connaught, Cheras

Recently, we're addicted to this..

Pan Mee!

Sometimes, we can eat it 2-3 times in a week. One of the pan mee places we've been frequenting a lot lately is Madam Chiam Curry Noodle House, mainly for convenience. It's also a case of the more we eat here, the more we like the noodles.

Beautiful sunrise

Somedays after Baby C's class is over, we will take her to Madam Chiam's where we, the adults will have our usual order of chilli pan mee with egg (a big bowl of course!) and Baby C will enjoy the dumpling / wantan / fishball.

To be honest, the first few times we ate here, I thought the noodles were a bit too soft. But lately I find myself liking it - either the noodles are much firmer now or I actually like the texture soft as it is. Some of our friends who we took here actually commented the noodles texture was very good too. So I guess, in the end, it boils down to personal preference as to which is your favourite pan mee place. A plus point is that every bowl of pan mee comes with a bowl of spinach & ikan bilis soup.

You gotta squeeze the lime into yo! ur pan m ee... the tanginess of the lime works very well with the pan mee!

Spinach and ikan bilis soup

Of course, you can order the chilli pan mee without the egg... but it's not as good. The egg really works in pan mee! Trust me.

The chilli is not too spicy, we can usually take the full amount offered with each bowl without breaking a sweat

Mix it well before enjoying!

We've also tried the traditional pan mee (soup version) which is decent, but chilli pan mee rocks!

Dumplings here are pretty good. Baby C likes them very much.

Slurp!

At the start, we've always wondered why this place was called Madam Chiam Curry Noodle House. Until one day, we watched Axian on Astro and this restaurant was featured on the show -- we found out that the owner was actually famous for her curry noodles and only later on did she add on pan mee to her menu. I still haven't tried a full bowl of this yet, but I tried some of the soup from my friend's bowl of curry laksa pan mee the other day and it was really good! I am so tempted to order this rather than my chilli pan mee next time.

I think it's usually served with cockles, but since my friend doesnt like cockles, they replaced it with 2 fishballs. There is also a piece of chicken, half a boiled egg, vege and tofu pok.

Thesour plum lime juice here is good too.

Have a good weekend!

Verdict: The pan mee here is good for those who likes their noodles with a softer texture. Dumplings and curry laksa are ! highly r ecommended too.
